Graphic Designers are professionals who create images that are then used in print, web, multimedia, packaging, etc. This involves designing logos, brochures, flyers, advertisements, displays, packaging, websites, posters, animations, video games, TV commercials, corporate identity, editorial illustrations, fashion shows, videos, promotional material, menus, packaging, and much more. In other words, it’s any kind of visual communication. There are many different types of graphic designers, but they usually fall into three categories: Print designers, Motion graphic designers, and Web design designers. A few of the most popular software programs include; Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, PhotoShop Elements, Freehand, Adobe Fireworks, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash Movie Maker, and Microsoft PowerPoint, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word. Some people make their own graphic designs using nothing but their computers!
1. Adobe Photoshop CS6
Adobe Photoshop is the best graphic design software around. It allows you to do almost anything you can imagine in regards to graphics. I use this tool for any type of picture editing. If you are into digital art, this is the way to go. There are many different tools inside that allow you to create some amazing images. One of these is layer masking. This allows you to add effects to parts of your image, like shadows, highlights, etc. Other than that, you can apply filters to them and make them look even more professional. I have used this program for years now.
2. Illustrator CC 2015
This is another great program for creating graphics. You can easily combine shapes to form letters, symbols, numbers, logos, etc. This is useful if you want to draw something from scratch and don’t need too much help. You can save your work and reuse it later. They have great tutorials online.
3. Corel Draw X7
Corel Draw X7 is probably the most common program you will find. While not my favorite, it does get the job done. Many people prefer this over other programs because they do not have to pay a monthly fee. However, this program does lack some features and can be slow at times.
4. InDesign CC
InDesign is a powerful and popular graphic design software used to create layouts from scratch or modify existing documents. It has its own drawing tools that allow you to draw vector objects, text boxes, shapes, and even advanced path-based typography. You can easily apply effects like drop shadows, blends, and strokes and customize your artworks using control points and guides. This tool allows you to use any font style, size, and color within the document.

Photoshop is one of the most popular desktop image editing tools used worldwide, providing its users with powerful functionality and advanced features.
